Miller Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach provides compassionate and comprehensive care to premature babies with extremely low birth weight, as well as critically ill full-term infants.
We treat more than 50 babies daily in our in our 69-bed regional (level III) NICU. In total, we care for more than 1,000 newborns, including many multiples, each year – more than any other hospital in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties. We were also featured in the book, A Baby E.R.: The Heroic Doctors and Nurses Who Perform Medicine's Tiniest Miracles, by Edward Humes.
