Orthopaedics (orthopedics)
is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with disorders of the musculoskeletal system: bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Long Beach Memorial Medical Center’s Orthopaedics Department is home to many of the area's finest orthopaedists, making it one of Southern California's most respected.
Our orthopaedic department’s practitioners use medical, physical and rehabilitative methods as well as surgery. Typically, we treat as many as 50 percent of our patients’ injuries with non-surgical or medical management. Surgery may be needed to restore function or reduce pain.
